Walking down the aisle

This is the story of Yoyo, a girl from a remote rural area in China who was born with a severe disability of her leg so deformed that meant she was unable to walk.

Thanks to sponsorship by SRDC as part of our commitment to helping underprivileged children with severe disabilities, in collaboration with an NGO who do work in China, Yoyo underwent surgery on her leg in Hong Kong at the Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital in 2014, followed by post-surgery rehab, and eventually was able to walk.

It’s a true story of transformation with a very happy ending, as just recently, Yoyo was able to walk down the aisle, when she celebrated getting married. We wish her a very happy future!
